Celebrate winter!

Winter is coming, and there’s so much to look forward to! For florists looking for winter inspiration: this blog covers everything about seasonal flowers, weddings, and holidays.
Sabine Lackner, Assistant Floral Design Manager, gives us a behind-the-scenes look at a photo shoot in Switzerland. Where does she derive her inspiration for her extravagant wedding decorations, and how does she make sure that everything runs smoothly?
It is only obvious that different products are available from season to season. This also applies to the accessories at the selected location. For this photo shoot, Sabine and her team examined all the available tableware before making a final selection.
She also takes availability and vase life or other perishability factors into consideration, and expands on these aspects.
‘In this way, many details and impressions come together, and a coherent product is created in the end.’
‘I recommend working with a colour scheme, but you should also ensure that the selection and the appearance of the flowers are a good match. This is at least as important. Using exclusively shades of pink or only small flowers rather than large ones simply won’t result in a coherent effect.’
Sabine created some samples to illustrate the theme beforehand.
‘The fact that the event team gave me inspirational images showing the same flowers that I used in my samples – or similar ones – was so special! Thanks to this, it all came together so well.’

A good start is half the work, so planning is indispensable when the delivery and quality of flowers are important. Everything must be just right, including the timing and cooperation with your own team and other divisions.
