This year, we wanted to go one step further, so we challenged ourselves to create three different pop-up wedding styles. Again, we got Samantha Wilhelm on board to come up with a theme. We asked her to share her thoughts about chrysanthemums at weddings – and, most importantly, the best ways to incorporate this flower.
Why do you like working with chrysanthemums?
Samantha: The chrysanthemum is an incredibly versatile flower available in lots of different colours and varieties. You can find a chrysanthemum to suit any style. And with all the developments we’ve seen in the world of chrysanthemums in recent years, it’s still a very affordable flower – with an interesting colour, shape and texture!
What makes the chrysanthemum such a good choice for pop-up weddings?
Samantha: Chrysanthemums are a great flower because they are ready to go straight away. They are a strong flower thanks to their stem, shelf life and presence. Chrysanthemums are also easy to transport and can withstand warm temperatures, so your creations will last all day.
Why are chrysanthemums a great flower for modern weddings?
Samantha: The latest generation of brides and grooms know what they want – or perhaps more accurately, what they don’t want. Their work/life balance is completely different from that of previous generations. Chrysanthemums have an old-fashioned image, but they have never stopped developing.
