“Because I believe in the next generation and in the value of education and craftsmanship, I invited seven Young Floral Talents to be part of the preparations for my show GROWH! at the World Cup. I also asked each of them to create a unique piece inspired by their own vision for the show.” – Hanneke Frankema
Young Floral Talent Iris created a huge bouquet with Tonkin sticks wrapped in wool. A project that took many hours to complete! For this special design, she had the opportunity to choose from a wide range of flowers and plants from over fifty growers. How lucky is that!
Young Talent Carine created an enchanting butterfly cloud. For a full year, she contributed to the preparations for this show filled with color and craftsmanship.
The very first Young Floral Talent is Marieke Bijpost! She created a large and stunning bridal bouquet made from tissues, finished with beautiful touches of candle wax. In the middle, a bridal bouquet holder is combined with the most extraordinary flowers and materials. To make it even more special, she was able to work with unique varieties from a botanical garden. The whole piece was beautifully presented in an elegant vase.
Young Talent Gerrit presents a bouquet that measures 1.80 meters in length and weighs 15 kilograms. The frame is built from rhythmically repeating wooden shapes, laser-cut and arranged in a circle. The center is filled with charred clay, and the entire structure is held together with brown aluminum wire in different thicknesses.
In total, the bouquet contains more than 200 fresh stems, including 85 stems of Clematis and 100 stems of Talinum ‘Long John’.
For extra accents, other living materials were added, such as Depenthus, passionflower vines, Scabiosa, Tillandsia, and more.
